well, are you talking about internal sata, or does your laptop have an esata port. also, which drive are you flashing because that determines the bricking part. but if you get your key from the drive before it bricks, then you have no problem replacing the drive.

ok. well if you have a PCMIA (or whatever its abbreviate by) you should look into getting a via 6421 chipset card. it will make flashing a lot easier. otherwise, im not sure if the onboard will work, or if the sata to usb will work (i've never used one).

you dont have to have a great desktop to flash, any will do as long as it has a PCI slot available. but the one i suggest in my most previous post was for your laptop. but you can try if you want. most people use jungleflasher. or you could try with iprep (it runs off of a bootable USB stick). i would go with JF, as it will either recognize your drive, or it wont.
