Having some issues with an open tray error on a Hitachi

I flashed it with 1.51 an it started giving the open tray error on all games. Then I flashed it back to stock and it continued to give the error. I looked online for a solution. I placed a piece of plastic from a thin cd case inside the disc drive where there trigger is to make the lens stop moving earlier when it resets. Original games started booting again. LT+ came out so flashed the drive again. Originals boot but backups just get the open tray error. The games should be fine. They've been through ABGX360 with the proper settings. There isn't any AP2.5 on them and they boot on my BenQ that has LT 1.1

Jungleflasher says the drive is a 47. But I'm wondering if I made a mistake and its actually a 46. There is a section where is says the drive is 46/47 and I might have flash a 46 with 47 firmware. While I don't believe that to be the case I'm trying to cover all bases.
Would an open tray error occur is 47 firmware is placed on 46?
Also, is there any harm in attempting to flash the drive with 46 firmware if it is in fact a 47?
Any other solutions for an open tray that don't invovle tilting or knocking the 360?
