I've been doing some research, because I am currently thinking about swapping my 20gig HDD for a self-made 120gig HDD. Right now I am looking for a 120gig HDDSS.bin, but I can't help but realize that everybody who has done this either bought one, or downloaded one from a torrent. So I'm wondering how many people are running with a HDDSS.bin from a torrent and haven't been banned? I understand MS probably isn't concerned with a person modding a HDD for more space, but I'm just checking my bases so that I am not out of $55. Thanks in advance.

why make a 120? just use a 250 and follow my tutorial. but if you really want a 120 you can still follow my tutorial, just use the 120 bin file.

To be honest, I don't see myself filling up the entire 120 gig HDD in the first place, let along a 250 gig. But then again, why not get more space when possible? Hah.

I really don't think that microsoft can do anything about it since the bin that is going around right now is an offical bin from the 250gb hard drive 360. I'm sure there fixing to release a 250gb of their own to go retail with.

I just did a HDD upgrade to 7200RPM 250GB. The cost between a 120GB and 250GB is like $10-$20. I used wabashman tut and it work great first time.

I don't know of anybody who has done ONLY the hard drive mod and been banned. This mod does not allow you to cheat or to play backups in any way, so it is mostly off the radar as far as MS is concerned.

There are a boatload of 3rd party disks from ebay, Microcenter, etc, but no manufacturers of new non-Microsoft disks (like Datel did for memory cards). Thus, there are no real commercial entities eating into Microsoft profits. I suspect that those of us that have done the Hard drive mod are few (relative to the total number of Xbox 360 owners).

In short, this mod does not allow you to cheat or steal and does not eat into Microsoft profits at a commercial level.
