I would greatly appreciate any help towards getting my 360 working again. Thanks in advance for your time.
I have a Samsung M28 which I managed to mod with ixtreme 1.6 back in Summer 2009. I'm not that adept a hacker; I just followed steps I found two years ago, and it worked. I was able to play backups from then until the last update a few days ago. After the update, I get an "E66" error. Upon reboot, everything works on the dashboard, but I can't update, which means no Xbox Live.
From reading other posts, I realize the solution will be to reflash back to original firmware. Here's what I have, what I don't have, and my question:
1. I have the original Key saved in a notepad document.
2. I do not have the orig.bin
3. I found an orig.bin for my drive on the net; I need to somehow associate that orig.bin with my key.
Question: could anyone treat me like a complete idiot, and tell me specifically what I need to do to reflash to original firmware, considering I have a key, but the orig.bin I have corresponds to someone else's machine? What software should I use? What are the steps?
If someone gives me steps that actually end up working, I'd have no problem paypalling you $20 bucks for the trouble. I sorely miss playing HALO while drinking and smoking with friends across the country - need that back in my life!
open the drive in jungle flasher, open source firmware select the bin file you have, open target firmware select the same bin file, now on the side you will see manual spoofing, click on that button at the top you will see load key bin, since you do not have that just copy and paste the key from the notepad to that slot where the key is showing then hit write, or you can read the machine first save the keybin file then load the others and instead of copying and pasting the key just look for the keybin file.
Thank you so much for the response. I actually got this fixed last night with the help of someone on JungleFlasher IRC chat. Your instructions worked, but with my MS28 "A" drive, it required a bit more.
For anyone else with "E66" on their already-flashed (with ixtreme 1.6) MS28 "A", you may need to do the "tray half open" trick.
What got me working is this:
1. Open the drive
2. Close the drive
3. When the drive is closing, but still halfway open, pull the power cable from the back of it.
4. Plug the power cable back in. The tray will remain half open.
5. Instead of "Sammy Unlock" in JungleFlasher, use "Send Vendor Intro." I was unable to succeed with Sammy Unlock, but I could with "Send Vendor Intro."
6. Flash back to original with the steps Peluynati mentioned.
7. Vender Outro.
8. Sign on to live with original firmware!

you can hook up a old hitachi 360 dvd drive to the box and it will update(no need for flashing anything)then put your working samsung back in and you can play burned games and get on live
