tl;dr:
I need helping getting my computer to recognize my Hitachi Xbox360 DVD drive.

I've been searching around the net for sometime. And i can't seem to find anything to help my issue.
Basically i'm trying to mod an extra Xbox360 i have laying around my house. I'm not sure of the exact age. I bought it refurbished from gamestop a few years ago. It's white, with a chrome CDROM bezel.
My issue is that no matter what i try, i cannot get my computer, or Device Manager to recognize that the 360's drive.
The steps i've been using are, turn on PC.
Connect SATA cable too PC/360's Drive.
Power on 360.
Is there anything else i should be doing?

Here is the basic information from my Dxdiag if required:

It wont show up in device manager you need to use a tool such as JungleFlasher to find it connected to the sata port.

I meant to add this to the original post as well.
I've used Jungle Flasher, but i cannot get it to recognize the drive, either. Nothing sees it.

I've used Jubgle Flasher, but i cannot get it to recognize the drive, either. Nothing sees it.
What model hitachi is it? 58,78,79, etc.. It should say the version on the upper right hand corner of the drive. Jungleflasher is your best bet. You need to read the tutorial for your particular model in order to get jungleflasher to see it. Keep researching, and you'll eventually get jungleflasher to see it.

In the upper right corner of the drive it says Manufacturing date: June 2006.
The only two digit number sequence i can find is: 61.

I guess i'll read through it again.I didn't find much to help the first two times i went through it.
