Hey Guys,

I just recently picked up a used xbox 360 with the intent on flashing it. Turns out, this xbox has a hitatchi 79 spoofed to a liteon 74. Supposedly, it is flashed with ixtreme 1.5. However, when i tried to play a backup of Madden 2010 it just said Play DVD and then the white XBOX 360 logo screen. I followed the How to Burn 360 game (Idiot Proof Guide to a T" and still it just gives me Play DVD.

I am using Verbatim 8X DVD+R DL with a LG HL-DT DL writer.

I did not do AGBX stealth because these will only be played on my "Offline" box (the spoofed one).

I burned a copy of Army of Two 40th day on 2.4X and Madden on 4X write.

Other forums suggest burning at a higher rate to fix this problem ie 6X or 8X....

Any ideas?

Update: Tried burning X6 and now i get the please put the disk into the Xbox 360 error. Any ideas guys?

Your problem will most likely be either of these two:

1. The laser on your Hitachi drive is pretty much dead. (Hitachi drives are the oldest model drives used in the very first 360s produced back in 2005. Since your console was purchased used, the laser might have seen countless hours of play time and could be fried ... especially after playing backups possibly on cheap media.)

2. The Hitachi drive does not belong to that console. Check the manufacturing date on the rear of the console. If the year is either 2006 or 2007 chances are the drive does not belong to that console. You mentioned that it was spoofed as a Lite-on and those drives did not start appearing in 360 consoles until around early spring 2008.

Note: Insert a few original retail discs in the console. If its the laser, you should be able to get at least one original to play for a second or two. This would help to determine that its not number 2.

Thanks Ebxtreme...an original game played fine...

I figured out the problem...I was probably flashed with 1.4 or earlier so it wasnt reading the backup....i reflashed with 1.51 and it worked like a charm!
