Hello. Ok how can I say this.. Couple months ago I had 2 RROD xbox's. While working on one, I turned it on and it's cd drive fried. Wouldn't turn on at all. The other xbox I gave up on.
Today, I managed to fix the first Xbox 360. But, I didn't have a cd drive for it because it fried. So, I took the one from the other xbox and plugged it in.
Now, it's running. Dashboard and all, but, when I insert a game, it says PLAY DVD. When I hit A, the screen flashes, turns black, then goes to a white screen with the XBOX 360 logo and letters and just sits there. Its not frozen though. I can still access friends and such. Why is this occurring? Thanks for whoever responds.

This is because you cannot simply swap drives. You have to dump the keys from the ORIG drive and then spoof to the drive you want to use. Search "spoofing"
