Hi Can someone please confirm with me if this is right.
Ok At the moment I have a Kreon drive but does not support SS v2
So I am going to sell it and buy a benq drive
Now Can someone please take some photos how you set up your?
I want to be able to put the drive into my computer somehow like the kreon drive I have.

Hi, I can confirm that is the correct power adaptor & drive on your links there. Dont think that you can really get the xbox drives in to a PC like you would a Kreon. Apart from the fact they have legs rather than side screws, there is no front plate.

I cut the legs off, and cut those 4 humps off the sides for a friend, and he was able to put it inside his tower, and secured it with mounting tape. I'll have him email me a picture to post.

I may be wrong here, but my understanding is you need to flash the BenQ drive with the 0080 fw to use it to rip games with it hooked to your PC.
The 1.61 is just for playing backups on your 360.

yeah just makeing sure there are a couple of drives which are alot more money it says offical drive on the others. that one I have link too should do the job? all the same?

i am taking that you dont have a connect kit?
i have the blaster ck3 and just use the console it self to ripp.
i also used the CK# pro as well.
it takes anywhere from 20-25 mins!!

I just got a BenQ VAD6038 the other day for ripping, i have a Samsung SH-D163B flashed with the kreon firmware but since the new/latest wave i decided to get an extra BenQ drive for ripping the new games until a new Kreon firmware is released and from what i have read they needed to be flashed with the 0800 firmware to rip the new game/s.
So this is nice seeing as i already have my 360 flashed to the 1.61 firmware i guess i could flash my spare drive to the 1.61 instead of the 0800 for ripping games.
But i will read through it tomorrow, but everything up until now i have read said you needed the BenQ flashed with the 0800 to rip the new angles.

You'll do better wit one of these instead. With the 0800 firmware on your drive, you can switch back and forth from normal game playing mode, to the other mode that lets you plug a sata cable right in the front for flashing or ripping.
You don't need that extra HD-DVD looking dvive.
