Hello I wanted to know what programs I will need to make backups and to flash my xbox360?s in window?s 7 64 bit. I been told it could not be done where others told me it can. I only found one video on YouTube but he was very unclear with his step by step. I already have the Kreon dive and a via 6421 SATA card I also downloaded Xbox backup creator v.2.9.0.306 and wave 3, 4, 5 iso. Other than that I have no clue what else I will need or how to do it thank you for your help ahead of time.

ripping and burning games:
1)360 drive with 0800 firmware. considered better than kreon rips cause of ssv2
2)xbc 2.9 or schtrom 4.1 - software which rips game
3)imgburn - burns iso image to disc (preferably verbatims made in singapore)
modding xbox:
1)read stickies up top
2)figure out what drive you have and proceed accordingly
3)depending on what drive will depend on what equipment you have
4)ixtreme firmware (lt if you have a liteon or benq)
5)read stickies up top again

You might want to have a look at the jungle flash PDF (google it) as the most up to date info is not in the sticky right now.

I'm modding drives in Win 7 x64 with no issues, working as well as when I was using with XP 32bit. Only tricky bit was getting drivers to work but 10 mins work solved that. Worth it if you want to put that little extra time in.

I'm using my standard on board sata connectors (Asus P5K-PRO) and haven't had many problems, have done 100+ with only 1 or 2 issues. In the past two months I have been using Win 7 x64 and using JF.

how did you get the computer to see the xbox360 or once you plugged it in it had no problem seeing what it was. I was told you can kill your motherboard like that I don't want to waste money on a card when i can just use the motherboard.

I just tried it and it seemed to work, I find that I can "hot swap" drives then restart JF and do that drive .... maybe I've just got lucky with my chipset. Drivers haven't ever been an issue, they work off the bat with no issues.

I would say you will be better off buying the sata card. Why take the risk of killing your mobo when you can get one from ebay for $10.

Just give it a try and see. You wont damage you board by doing this. I use my Intel board for Hitachis and my Via6421a for all other drives (as they are no detected on my intel mobo)
