hi there folks in the know...

here is my problem...

when i try to play some older back-up games, they wont load! i just get asked to 'open tray'... sometimes they work after a few attempts, sometimes they dont! some work first time everytime! the ones that are not working were working previously, and all new wave 3 back ups work perfectly!!

i dont know what firmware i have installed, as it was done at a shop, i cant update the firmware, because... frankly, i'm hopeless with it! i dont use live, and have been patching the wave 3 games.

i have about 150 games, and of them, about 100 now wont work! and i dont know what the problem is!

any help and advice appreciated
cheers

first off you need to change your title, if not done this thread will most likely be closed and/or ignored.

secondly burn games generally don't seem to last as long as factory stamped games. what media are you using? if its not verbatims thats a problem right there. also lasers on the drives can ware out overtime, but i would suggest re-burning the games you want to play or at least try one of them see if that works.

Also, are you using a hitachi drive? It may be that your laser is getting weak. If so, try the POT Calibration trick.

To find out what drive you have or learn about the Pot Calibration trick read the Ultimate Sticky
