Let windows boot up completely and then connect the drive to the SATA port. With Jungle Flasher, you must have PortIO installed so JF will see the drive. Once JF sees the drive, you can click "send Mode B" and the drive should respond and be visible in Windows.

Could be your onboard SATA chipset is incompatible. If it completely won't work, you will need to get the VIA SATA card with the 6421 chipset.

I thought you only had to install the port I/O if you were using the VIA pci? (I have only flashed 1 drive so far so no flaming if I'm wrong here)
Also, when booting from the Slax CD, when are you powering on your 360? Some people have said to wait until your computer starts to boot into Slax until you power on the XBOX. While using the Slax CD to get my Hitachi v78 into Mode B I had to start my XBOX first and then start my PC and tell it to boot from disc.
(when I say power on the XBOX I mean power on the DVD drive, I used my xbox to power my DVD drive while flashing)

i read textbook's tut on 360mods, and it said to power them on at the same time, so that's what i did. it kept on saying that the port is slow to respond or that it wasnt responding at all.
what SATA ports are compatable with the 59 drive?
i read somewhere that almost all are. i hav Intel Ultra, or something like that
i also read that the VIA sometimes doesnt work with hitachis
thanks again for all the help guys

PortIO is used in JF to identify the drive before you put it in Mode-B through Jungle Flasher.

Well, try starting the xbox up, wait a few seconds, and then start up your computer. Like I said, I followed the tut and it wasn't working. I went on another forum and someone said they started the xbox, waited a few seconds and then started the computer. It worked for me, and it might work for you.
As far as installing Port I/O, it shouldn't be necessary if you're using Slax (that is of course if you can get Slax to work).
Also, what version of Slax are you using? I used the newest one to put my Hitachi v78 into mode B.

the slax i was using was 2.1, and my drive version is 59.
could it be that my SATA chipset isnt compatible? i hav Intel, but i keep on reading different things about Intel and 59, like some sources say that they ARE compatible, and the other places counter that.
