I had a falcon with a benq drive and i flashed it some time back with ixtreme 1.4 but the system RROD'd and after repairing it twice it died. Back ups were working fine on it at the time.
I recently decided to get a new xbox (jasper) and i tried to use the drive from the old system in it but when i try to boot any game orig or back up it just says play dvd.
I've been out of date for about a year or so now any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You can't just swap a drive for a drive. You need to set the DVD key on the new drive to be the same as the old drive.

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

You cant just swap the drives, because each drive is associated with each console.

You need to spoof the drive, if your putting it into a new console.

Cant say ive tried it myself, but i know plenty of people on here would be able to direct you.

Heres a link that may help...
