I need some help with my Samsung xbox. I have deleted system cache on my hdd. I've lost access to my profiles for Forza 2. My question is, will i be ok if I logon to xbl just for game updates and get banned? I'm running ixtreme 1.5. Is it possible for me to use another xbox with my hdd to get the updates? Can i remove the exploit and go back to virgin state? Or am i better off getting another one and run the latest ixtreme. Thanks.
It's very likely that if you log in with your xbox that it will get banned. Yes, you could use another "virgin" xbox to download your profile and updates. If you get a newer 360, look for a benq drive as they are the easiest to modify and play backups "safely" on live. LT 1.1 is the latest firmware for benq and liteon. Samsung even with the latest (1.61) is considered not safe, but samsung LT is being tested and will be released sometime soon (hopefully). There still is a chance that if you've ever connected to live with your xbox with 1.5, you may have been flagged for being banned. The only way to know for sure is to try to sign in to live. All that said, if I were you, I would buy a used console for playing legit games on live, and never connect the modified one to live. That way you don't have to worry about getting banned, and you don't have to worry about getting your hard drive corrupted.
For playing backups, you might want to wait until samsung LT is released, and then flash/upgrade your 1.5 box. It should boot any wave game. Ripping with xbc is fine, but I would use an official 360 drive flashed with 0800 firmware to rip the games. Using the samsung 162d with kreon firmware will work, but might be one of the reasons that 360s are getting banned. Search for SSV2 on here and you'll see what I'm talking about. Nobody knows exactly why they ban except them.
