This is a 32 bit process running on a 32 bit CPU
portio32.sys Driver Installed
portio32.sys Driver Started, thanks Schtrom !
Found 11 I/O Ports.
Found 1 Com Ports.
Found 7 windows drives A: C: D: F: G: H: I:
Found 1 CD/DVD drives D:

Via Card with status (Code 39), Hitachi Port IO enabled!
Ive checked each of my via port numbers and the drive properties do not show. Ive send mode B on all of the ports and the drive does not close as it should..

Loading with drivers is just crashing my PC so I cant use winAPI and SLAX isnt any help.

Thanks
Mike

Bumpworthy update

I plugged my drive directly into my sata controller which never normally works and went through the ports and it picked up a BenQ drive!,

So I went over and tried benq unlock which failed so I tried to send mode B and it worked, windows picked it up and assigned it a driver letter.

I tried to dump the drive, in the hitachi tab but it said drive revision undetermined and the benq read failed also.

Im assuming this is spoofed as a benq, anyone know what I need to do.

79 is the only that requires a audio unlock. You don't send 78's into mode b either. Use port IO and simply try and do the dump.

The jungleflasher PDF tells you to send mode b for the 78's. I have already tried just dumping but I get "Drive revision not determined, aborting." I'm suspecting this is due to it being picked up as a BenQ

true if it's spoofed. I can recall seeing that for other hitachis but not the 78. I haven't done one in a while though since those drives are junk. Even if it's spoofed, it is still a hitachi drive so I would assume it should work. Can you pull the pcb and move to another hitachi? How good is the laser in this 78? Try putting a game in the drive and then dump.
