I'm having trouble with a stock BenQ drive that I'm trying to spoof with my Hitachi's Original Firmware and iXtreme 1.51. I'm using a VIA Chipset PCI card and using the 360 to power the drive. I was able to successfully dump the Hitachi's Original Firmware and I'm guessing that I'm pretty much done with this drive and I won't be needing it anymore. I then swap the Hitachi for the BenQ and then get the drive into Vendor Mode, but as soon as I click READ to dump the firmware, the middle LED on the RF Module blinks unceasingly and my PC ends up restarting. Now, whenever I restart the 360 with the BenQ attached to it, the middle LED keeps blinking like the drive is trying to be accessed. Also whenever I connect the BenQ drive to the computer by way of the VIA card, the computer locks up and I have to restart. I'm thinking that the BenQ drive is bad but it worked fine right before I tried to read the firmware. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

try uninstalling and reinstalling the via drivers,,once you have done that,,what i do is start the pc,,then once its up,,power up the 360,,with the sata plugged in,,open jungleflasher,,if the drive is not seen,,dont worry,,click on vendermode intro and power cycle the benq for 1-2 seconds,,and it will show up,,then read,,,first spoof the firmware to a hitachi,,then flash,,hope that helps,,cheers

I tried doing that and the computer still locks up. What's weird is this, if I put the BenQ back on the 360 using the SATA/power cable from the console, I get 1 red light on the bottom right quadrant. When I place the Hitachi drive, which is the original drive, the 360 boots up fine... is this because the BenQ is a foreign drive? Anyways, I'll try it on another PC and see if it works... I'm hoping it does. As far as flashing the BenQ with the Spoofed Hitachi Firmware w/iXtreme 1.51, would this be the way to do it?:
On the Firmware 32 Tab:
-Click on LOAD SOURCE FIRMWARE
-Select Hitachi Original Firmware
-Click on OPEN TARGET Firmware
-Select iX151-benq.bin
-Click SPOOF SOURCE TO TARGET
From here, I know JF will ask me to save the custom firmware... but where do I go to write it on the BenQ. Also, do I have to erase the BenQ drive before I flash it withe the new firmware or will it just overwrite it?

yes thats the way but you can use the 1.6 firmware in the benq,,1.51 just for hitachi,,and when you get the one red light its not reading the right firmware,,you have to flash the spoofed benq firmware to benq,,and good idea if you are still having problems try a different computer,,thats almost allways work for me,,and when your ready to flash just hit write,,dont need to hit erase,,BUT REMEMBER,,if the hitachi is the origanl drive from that board,,save those keys,,if you dont and the flash goes bad,,not good,,make sure you save the hitachi origanl firmware in a save place,,cheers

Go ahead and keep the driver uninstalled for the VIA card. That should fix the freezing issue.

How do I do that? When I go to C:/Windows/System32/Drivers and delete the drivers (there are 3 that start with VIA) that are associated with VIA, they magically reappear. Do I uninstall the RAID controller from Device Manager as well?

Check "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS" in control panel. They maybe in there. Next uninstall from device manager, then delete the files from the Driver folder. Once you reboot, you will get hardware wizard pop up. Click cancel and then go back in to device manager. You should see a yellow exclamation mark next to your controller card.

Well I finally got things working on another computer, I guess that one machine didn't like the BenQ. =)
What is the advantage of 1.6 over 1.51? I don't play online all that much and I stealth check/patch my backups through ABGX360 once for the .ISO and another time when the backup is created, I should be good right?
