Hi, ive got an hitachi 78fk drive and i cant for the life of me get windows or jungle flasher to recognise it.Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Oh do you mean it won't show under ports in JungleFlasher at all? Make sure in dvdkey32 include non-IDE ports is ticked and do you have portio32 installed?
