How can i check if my burner can burn?

Hello,i want to ask if there is any way how i can check if my burner can burn xbox360 game's im plannin to flash my xbox360 later this week but i first want to know for shure if i can burn i dont have a flashed xbox360 so i cant really test it but i know what burner i got a TEAC DV-W28S-R
i have a laptop and i see this RW DVD R+DL its a fairly new laptop 1year old so can someone please help me?
