Its giving me a 1,3,4 lights when i turn it on and know thats a general hardware error i think but is that all i know whats wrong? any why for me to know what exactly is wrong?

this is a buddy xbox and he already bought another xbox and says doesnt care if i can fix it so really ill try what ever to fix it even if i dont know how. but just want to know if their is a way to tell what exactly it is that wrong.

hold the sync button down and press the eject button 4 times. 4 lights = 0. Then look it up here http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=484726 and it'll give you a pretty good idea of what's going on. Probably just needs x-clamp and reflow.

thanks for that so now i know its a Error E08

Unconfirmed: General I/O Malfunction, could be caused by an error with any of the I/O devies such as A/V port, USB, Hard drive, DVD drive, etc. over torquing of the AV or heatsync bolts can cause this error.

so this mean their is no way for me to even try to fix this or really knowing where to look? like i said this 360 just gonna get thrown away so doesn't matter if i break it more trying to fix it.

also any options to replace it to get it working again? out side of buying a new 360 or sending it back to be fixed?
