Hello,

I just bought a 360 console on ebay this last week and received it on Wednesday. I bought the console as a Used/Banned discount. When it arrived I naturally decided to give it a try burning a game and playing it(I assumed it was a high possibility that it was already modded hence the ban). I burned a copy of Fable2 and it worked flawlessly.

However this morning I attempted to burn a copy of Madden 11. It came with a .dvd file and the .iso file. I burned the game the same way I did with Fable2 using CloneCD and burning the .dvd file at 4x write speed. However the disk came out as a DVD instead of a game. My PC and 360 think its a DVD.

Is there anyway to tell if a file is ready to be burned before burning it and requires no extra modification?

Also while I am on the subject, is there anyway to know what FirmWare my 360 has installed, when I purchased it the first thing I wanted to know is if it had a modded firmware installed and what firmware it has.

Thanks for any help.

Why do all of my DVDS look like trash!!!

you may need the wave disc to load the game.
step 1: burn the wave disc to dual layer dvd. just google "xbox 360 wave disc" and you should find it. It's about 4MB, pretty small.
step 2: place disc in xbox, load it and it will complain about non-game disc. you can now eject the disc
step 3: place madden 11 disc inside and play

Oh great, thanks for the info. I will give it a shot, I already have Two wasted disks now. Hopefully this third one will do the trick.

I was thinking maybe the with an older "hacked" firmware it won't play newer games or something. Because Fable2 is pretty old now isn't it? But fable2 worked perfectly the first try, and Madden 11 and Raw vs SmackDown 2011 don't want to load.

I would also like to mention again, that the Xbox I bought is Used/Banned, I have not done any Firmware modding to it myself but Fable2 burned DVD is working fine(I burned it last night). How can I tell what firmware is on the Xbox? The "360 wave disk" google search gave me results for "Wave4 for iExtreme 1.6 firmware". How can I see if I have iExtreme 1.6 firmware installed already?

Why do all of my DVDS look like trash!!!

i can play those games with no issues on a x360 with hitachi drive, that is over 4 years old. i'm using the latest firmware ixtreme on the drive, perhaps you don't have that. what kind of drive do you have? liteon? benq?
you can research jungleflasher and ixtreme to more info on how to flash your drive with the latest firmware.

Nice, the Wave disk works great. Thanks a lot for the information.

Solved: One more question: If the file doesn't come with a .dvd file, I cannot burn just the .iso can I? Do I have to create the .dvd file myself?

Hi mate I am asuming you mean the .dvd file that comes with the iso you download if you some how dont get the .dvd file then you can create you own.

1. downlaod xdvdmulleter http://files.filefront.com/XDVDMulleterB...;/fileinfo.html

2. Once downloaded and extracted load xdvdmulleter up highlight view iso and click next

3. load the iso from dvd drive or file (most likely file if you dl) once loaded click next

4. at the bottom of the window you will see a box of options like stealth, video, other and so on click on other then select make .dvd file

5. make sure you save the file the same as you iso file by default it will do this and there you go you have a .dvd file with the correct layer break

next time just look through the sticky's and you will find everything you are looking for trust me i'm a noob to or I was 2 weeks ago till I found this site :)

Actually after a quick google search I found out you can create the .dvd file yourself. I tried it with a game and it worked fine.

Just look at one of the .dvd files you have with notepad. It looks like this:

LayerBreak=1913760
Call of Duty Black Ops.iso

So all you have to do to create a .dvd file for any game you want to burn is create a new .txt document in the same directory as your .iso file and put in the same thing as I posted above, but change it to whatever your .iso is named. Or just copy any .dvd file to the same directory as the .iso file you want to burn and then edit it with notepad and change the .iso name to whatever you want to burn. That way if you don't have "Show Extensions" option set in your windows you won't have problems.

EDIT: if you create a new .txt document, make sure you have "All file types" selected in notepad when you save it and change .txt to .dvd.

Why do all of my DVDS look like trash!!!

Even simpler:

Since the ISO has to be checked anyway, just run the ISO through abgx360 1.0.5 (mulleter is outdated), which will create a .dvd file for the game and fix/patch the ISO.
