both of the boxes I have were banned and neither of them were sent to m$ for any reason. I still got nailed.
theres one guy in this thread who claims to have reverted to stock f/w and still been hit. could be something he did before that was flagged. but f/w is standing out in my mind. How do we know m$ can flag us? or is that just something we fabricated and agreed upon?

Yeah, that was me. I was offline for months and hooked up a friends HD when he wanted to play Brutal Legend backup. It updated my system with the 28th update. I reverted to original firmware. Formatted, cleared cache, held down sync button on boot (I think it clears last update or maybe only broken ones). I play offline for the most part, but I figured I would see if I could duck the ban. It downloaded an update, so I'm assuming the sync cleared the 28th update. Was online for a couple days and got the boot. Not a big deal to me as I just use the HD for save games and I can still play TrialsHD full version offline (not Portal, but never could offline)
I played a few backups that night, I'll recheck with ABGX in a couple days after deer camp and see if they verify.
I'm pretty sure that came back to being that the last 3 lines were made up and added by someone. I saw the original post before this one started floating around.

yeah my bad. I didnt see that you were suggesting that the boxes with the serials that were in the M$ database were unbanned. I thought you were suggesting that the consoles were repaired, then returned, then banned because m$ saw something fishy with them.
but when i said theres someone in here saying he was hit after he reverted, i meant in the link i posted. tommytotes was whom i referring to. check out his post in the link i put up in my last post.
