This tut will only work with drives flashed with iXtreme 1.6 and 1.61 or the 0800 firmware.
THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR IX LT You will need to flash 0800 firmware to rip your games then flash back to LT.
So far i have tested this with: liteon 74850 (ix1.6), Samsung MS28 (ix1.6 & 1.61), Benq (ix1.6 & 1.61), and can confirm that all drives work as described below. Sorry there is no way to rip this way with Hitachi yet!
If it isn't working for you then you aint doing it right!
This tut has been done using only iXtreme 1.6 and ix 1.61
YOU DO NOT NEED SPECIFIC 0800 FIRMWARE TO RIP THIS WAY IF YOU USE iXtreme v1.6+ (0800 mode is built into ix 1.6 and 1.61)
Connecting your drive to the pc.
To start connect your DVD Drive & CK3 (Pro, Lite or Blaster) to your PC as you would if you were flashing your drive (If you are using a Blaster make sure you connect the Xbox AV lead to the Xbox to stop it from shutting down)
Note: ModeB LED should be BLUE not RED
Eject the tray to the half way position and power off the CK3
Power the CK3 back on and open Device Manager on your PC. (you can get to DM through Windows Control Panel)
Click scan for hardware changes and wait for your drive to be detected (If you are connecting to a VIA Sata card and you disabled these for iXtreme flashing you need to make sure the drivesr are actually installed correctly with this method)
Once DM finds your drive you will see it under DVD/CD-Rom Drives
Setting up XBBC
To setup XBBC copy the following settings.
Ripping the game disc.
1. Open XBBC and select your xbox drive from the selection menu.
Lite-on running ix 1.6
Sammy MS28 running ix1.61
2. On the read tab click Complete backup.
3. With XBBC ready to start insert your game disc and close the tray.
You don't really want a picture of a closed drive do you?
4. Close any autoplay dialog and click start. (ensure you have selected complete backup)
5. Choose the file name you wish to save your .iso as and where you want to save it to. (im using PGR4 for this demo)
6. The program will start to rip the game data. (this will take a while depending upon your pc speed.)
43% has taken 13m 34s so far!
7. Ta Da All done again.
Note: Any errors should be retried don't zero pad them.
great tut sicdude,,,im using a sammy for all my rips but i have used the liton and benq,,and they work fine,,there is another program that i use to but i cant remember the name of it,,it also is a good ripper,,cheers
Sicdude is there a specific drive that we should buy of ebay which flashes "better/faster/drives with higher RAM" if we want to flash to 0800 to rip our own games please?
Banned on iX1.5 Liteon. Currently wants to buy a new xbox but does not understand how all this flashing works and will not pay £40 to get this xbox flashed again.
