sounds great ive allready ordered the bits i need to do this.
however i cant seem to find a link to download degraded v1.1.
so i got a download of total commander to check the two dumps of the nand.
is one preferable to another or are they as good as each other?
also one tut says to plug in the power adaptor but dont turn it on.
and another says that it doesnt need any power to read the nand that the pc´s port will give the power to the xbox mother board.

i have a 512mb jasper and have tried to dump the nand with nandpro. i can get the lpt working an i get a flashconfig of : 0x00AA3020 but the tutorial says i need a flash config of 0x1198010 but i cannot get that flash config to show up.

This is just to let everyone know that a 512mb nand takes over 24hrs for one dump on the LPT: port. And at least 2 dumps are needed 256mb nand i would assume takse half of that time and the 16mb nand takes 20 min.

When i was dumping the nand i got many block read errors probobly over 200 in around 10000 blocks or as many blocks are in 7FFF. i tried to read the nand and i got a error of the nand being the wrong size.

Can anyone offer some insight on how to help i have also tried a db25 female to usb cable to try and speed up my dumps but nandpro does not detect it .

i've read the cable tut and it says you need 1 switching diode however it does not show where to solder am i missing something???

dude, the diode you may need it (not compulsory). just give it a shot without it, if it doesnt work (gives u some errors) put the diode.

If you do need to attach the diode then it sits between the cable that's attached to pin 11 on your parallel cable, and the motherboard.

It's best to solder it directly to the motherboard with the black band facing the mobo(otherwise it won't flow correctly) , then solder the wire to that.

I recommend also using the latest version of FindSecData. It will find all the secdatas in your NAND and patch it properly to gain hdd functionality back.

FindSecData v0.61

Usage:

findsecdata nand1.bin

Once you run that, it will tell you which filetable and patched secdata bin to flash.
