I currently have a Flashed (1.6 FW) Xbox 360 that needs to be updated to the latest Firmware to run the newest 2.5 Protection games.
However, I feel that I've had enough with the modding scene and that it time for me to move on. Keeping the 360 up to date in regards to backups running properly takes too much time off my hands (Patches, Re-Flashing, Game Updates for game killing bugs). Yesterday a close friend of mine told me he wanted to buy my Flashed XBOX so he could have one. (he doesn't have a problem with having to read modding scene sites every few weeks).
INTRO ENDS HERE.
I have decided to buy one of the Slim XBOX 360s and only play my originals from now on (I don't even play as much games as before), but since the profile is corrupted, I don't know if it is safe enough for me to recover it via Xbox Live and also use saved games that were created from backups (also have the original copies).
- Is it safe to recover the profile that was corrupted and used on a Flashed Console?
- Is it safe to use saved games created on backups once and if the profile is successfully recovered?
- Should I start a new profile but use the "corrupted saves"?
- Should I start totally anew, losing progress on some games?
Well when you do get banned they ban your console not your gamertag, so as long as your not modding your profile in anyway, and just playing backups with it you will have no problem. I cant say that there isn't any info in the game saves retaining info on flash console, but if there is it is going to contain the serial number of flashed one, so since your on a completely different one there wont be a problem. If your profile is corrupt from using a banned console then so are any game files youve accessed with it, so they wont be usable on new console without uncorrupting somehow.

Good info. Now, do you know any cases where people got banned with an "uncorrupted" profile and saves and everything else being clean?
I also had a banned console for awhile and I was going back and forth from my banned and my "legit" console. Of course each time I had to uncorrupt my profile and I am still to this day using that same profile so I would say it is safe to use saves and your profile. I would recommend getting a program called con flag remover (or batch con flag remover). What that does is remove the flag that corrupts your saves/profile so it will be just like new. Let me know if you need any help or have any more questions. Im not on this site much anymore but I will try to check back for ya.
EDIT: you may have to rehash/resign it after you use the con flag remover. I can't remember its been awhile.
I think it may be what you are talking about. I think I can pull it off as I only need to uncorrupt the Profile and saves from only 4 games. It may be a little bit harder to uncorrupt the save files with them being in hard to recognize folders.
Ya that is difficult sometimes. One thing that I do is instead of figuring out which one is which I just have a USB drive that has nothing else on it and then I use the dashboard to transfer over the saves I want onto it. Then I know that all the saves I need are the only thing on the drive. Or you could do it manually by looking up the Id's here http://abgx360.net/games_by_alpha.txt

Good luck
Thanks a lot, that is very useful information!
I'll try it out in the next coming weeks when I get the new console.
