hi all, I bricked my lite-on (7 series) JF froze on me after i pressed lite-on erase and got a 0x72 status but i got all my key info. Heres the thing i know my ck3 switch went out on me (i already ordered a new one) Can i fix my drive without the defective ck3 i got all my key info so i dont have to extract it. any help or suggestion would be great thanks
make sure viaraid i think is erased on ur system 32/drivers folder
load up JF and hook up the drive to the port u had it,load up ur dummy and firmware,do the LO erase till u get the 72 status and write,ur drive isnt bricked
thanks infamOus and modking30 for your help i will check and make sure that my drivers are set up properly. so my defective ck3 has nothing to do with this right? ok guys thanks i will check it right now
Your ck3 probably isn't defective. If you think it's defective because your drive doesn't open, then think again. I believe that you need to manually open the drive so jungleflasher can see it. Just like they've said above, disable your via6421, make sure that your viaraid.sys file is not in your system32 folder(move it or rename it temporarily). Make sure to re-enable the via6421 in the device manager (should have a yellow exclamation point now). Restart your computer. Open jungleflasher and it won't freeze on you. You should now be able to do the lite-on erase again, and flash the drive successfully. After the flash you should be able to power the ck3 off and back on. Now the drive should eject properly. You should be good to go at this point. Good Luck!
for JF, eject the Liteon with the button. Hit eject again and shut off the switch when it gets half way. You can use your hand regardless. On a side note, I have never put the tray half way open on any liteon I do. I use the Maximus xtractor Pro. Erases and flashes on the 100's I've done ;)
Ok guys thanks again for all your help i check and my drivers are installed properly i went to my device manager and the yellow exclamation point is there and i checked my sys32 folder and my viaraid sys isn't there. I've used this computer before to mod systems but this is the first time this has ever happened. the reason i think my ck3 went out is because it doesn't show up in my comm port it usually shows up as comm port 7 with all my ck3 info but this time it didn't show up all i got was comm port 1 and i tried all my usb's ports.
