I couldn't play assassin's creed 2, it says me, you need to update. I think it's all about waves stuff, so i need help;
Old owner said it has ixtreme 1.4
1) Can i play new games with activate dvd without update?
2) If i have to update the ixtreme, do i need to return the stock dvd firmware first and let the xbox update from Microsoft servers?(and of course later update to ixtreme 1.51,i heard it's the latest for hitachi)
you are confused and not really sure what you are talking about. lol. are you saying you tried to play the game while connected to XBL and it asked you to update the game>?

You will need to restore to stock firmware and then flash to 1.51 firmware then everything will play without an activate disk and you wont need to be connected to xbox live.
