Ok so i have fixed many 360's with the ring of death. But this one my friend got off ebay is different. When i first got it today i hooked up and it immediatley said 3 rings but the drive opened. Now i did the 3 ring fix the only thing was lowes was outa parts so i had to use #11 or something little bigger than the #10 nylon washers, and the ywere outa metal ones too so i had to just use one metal and two nylons. and on one i had to use 3 nylons...So i kinda rigged it this time and didnt know if that was the problem but I'm pretty sure that the xbox would at least open the tray...oh and the fan powers up but then shuts off real quickly after the 3 rings pop up.

How many washers do you have on the heatsink side of the board? As far as the fans shutting off right away, your screws are on too tight. Loosen them up bit by bit until you get green lights. Might want to go back and rework the X-Clamp Fix with the proper size/number of washers.

Ok maybe thats it also the pads on the back are gone guess he removed them and some of the like idk what there called but they stick out of the board like black rods some are gone i think.
