Hey all I was thinking of ways I could play original games online and burned games offline all on one console.

What if I installed a WP NAND switch, followed by a Blaster 360 (for ease of firmware flashing).

Then when I was offline and going to play a burned game I would:
1)switch the WP NAND switch on
2)flash the firmware to some iXtreme version
3)play a burned game

Then if I was going to go online I would:
1)flash the firmware back to stock
2)switch the WP NAND off
3)go online

I keep hearing that offline activity is logged on the NAND and then reported to M$ when the console goes online, therefore write-protecting the NAND should prevent offline activities from being saved.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

and for the amount of money and time are you spending on that, why not just buy a used console and flash it.

Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.

Well the blaster 360 is the only expensive part, I think it goes for around $60.

But aside from the cost, do you think this method would protect me from being banned for offline activities?

i guess it would work. but assuming if you have a lite-on and use LT, you could prob skip flashing back and forth, and just rewrite the nand each time you switch between modded/retail games. but either way spending the 60 bucks on a used console would be easier.

That may work just fine, only as long as MS, does in fact, read the nand and they have no way of detecting modded firmware. If they don't read the nand and bannings are due to drive timings then you're no better off.

Now, maybe if you set up a dual boot nand AND dual drives, then you'd be set. But with all that work and hassle, you'd still be ahead with just using a second console.
