from what i read it is Kinda simple to get banned form xbox live. now if i get banned i know i can update my system via usb, but what about game updates? and any one know of a way to get Un-banned?

if you get banned you'll probably just have to create a new account and register it with xbox live.

if he gets banned, he will have to buy a new console to play on live. they dont ban the accounts.
as to your questions, yes you can update via usb, or cds. and yes game updates will still work (provided they were already on the disc to begin with).

just the console. its extremely hard to get your profile banned. you would have to be doing some serious cheating/modding of games/ unsportsmanlike conduct to get MS to even think about that.

kingofall - if you are careful and make sure all your games are steath patched you will be fine.

no matter how careful you are, you will still get banned at some point. this is just a truth that you will have to accept.
i know that there are people that will say they haven't been banned in x amount of years, but the truth is: not "will i get banned", but "when will i be banned".
it's a small price to pay for the convenience of a modded drive.

I know some people say this, but I don't know if I believe it. If you do everything right, I think you'll be able to get by without ever getting banned. Now, you obviously have to be very careful, check games, everything like that... but I think you can get by.

you won't get banned ever if you make sure the games are stealth and patched and just don't be stupid and play early released games that are leaked on the net.
