Quote: I 10:42:35 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: UMEDISC-DL1-64) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x)
The only DL disks to use (according to the ImgBurn Forum) are Verbatim DVD+R DL.
Anything else, sooner or later, always ends in tears.

Firmware 2.86 is available for your burner. Sometimes updating a burner's firmware can lead to better burns with certain discs.
It probably is just the discs though, as mentioned above. When you buy cheaper ones, the dye used on the disc can often vary, so one lot of Memorex might use a different batch of dye to another lot, for example.
I would try updating your burner's firmware. If that's no good, try burning at a faster speed, cos slowest does not always equal best. If that's no good, try some Verbatim discs (which I would use anyway, to be honest). And if all that is no good, the burner might just be on the way out.

To update a burner's firmware, you just download the updater and run it. Once it's done, it'll usually ask you to reboot your computer and that's it.

In ImgBurn, once past the initial selection wizard screen.
Tools > Drive > Check for firmware updates.

Yes, brand of media is a very common problem when burning 360 games.
Originally posted by carina_ann: i just thought it was weird as it had burnt quite a few games before this error started.
The reason for that is that the Aone discs you were using, don't have consistancy in how they were manufactured. The ones that failed on you are more than likely just slightly different from the ones that worked for you. The Verbatims you are going to get are always the same, so if they work, they always will.
I'm more impressed that you burned successfully with Aone, but are still willing to understand that they are still most likely your problem. Most people simply post back saying "My discs are not the problem because they worked for me before", without understanding the big picture.

I wouldn't recommend anything other than ImgBurn, but if you must stray, go no further than CloneCD.

It's not luck. For the record, all brands of CADs work. The problem is that (even if burned correctly) they usually work. Top quality discs like Verbatim and Taiyo-Yuden always work (assuming you burn correctly). The other problem is that CADs deteriorate much much much faster than top quality discs.

Anything else, sooner or later, always ends in tears. that is why i always have another back up on my computer on a spare HDD so when the disk dies i don't have to get out the store bought disk. just burn it from the HDD and you back up and running. i use memorex and my sammy reads them just fine
