Hello all,
I recently purchased a lg gh22lp20 dvd drive to backup my xbox 360 games. I have made 3 backups and 7 coasters with trying different files, checking my DMA (although I am not experienced with this information so this could still be a problem), and using both 2x and 4x write speeds after doing some research.
I am currently using my lg gh22lp20 drive with Memorex 8x dvd+r dl discs. I realize these discs are poor quality, but my friend bought a few 50 packs for 15 bucks each on amazon (quite the deal). He gave me an entire spindle so I figured I'd try these while I wait for my Verbatim discs to come in the mail. Anyway, that is what I am using, and this is the log on my latest failure

I would appreciate any and all suggestions because I would rather not keep my 3:7 burn ratio.
Thanks in advance,

EDIT: After reading through the log it appears that even though I selected a 2x write speed, the average is 2.3x, with a max of 4x. The disc shows the ability to write at 4x, 6x, and 8x speeds. I believed that it would be able to go at a slower speed and that it was advertised as the higher speeds just so that it looked to be a "faster" disc. Apparently not. I have had 2 successful burns at "2x" speeds, and 1 at a more true 4x speed. I hope this information helps you so that you can help me.
its gonna be the burner or the firmware on the burner needed update, because its most of the time NOT the disk, i just bought a 10 pack of memorex dvd+r DL and they work fine on my Tsstcorp burner.
I will try to update firmware. There is a newer version I guess. If this doesn't work I will return the burner to the POS Retail outlet commonly known as Best Buy. I got anxious for my burner and went against my better judgment in the first place. Wish me luck, and I would appreciate some ideas on a burner and a good place to get it. I may as well get it online because I'm waiting for my Verbatim discs anyway.
I did a little more reading up and it seems that 2.4x is an outdated write speed and that it may even be too slow. I am over 80% of the way through backing up Left 4 Dead on my Verbatim disc!
