I am attempting to use jungle flasher to flash a lite on 83850c, but I have windows 7 installed and cannot install portio32m has anyone been able to do this? Or should I try virtual xp?

Click Start and type:
hdwwiz
From there, you can run do the manual install.

Thanks for that! It did install and I can see it in device manager but when I launch jungleflasher I get "no comports found during enumeration"
The drive is gooked up and powered on. Is there something Im missing?

COM port is only needed if you are trying to dump the key of a 74850C Lite-ON.

Thank You for your help with this leerage, I have one more question, is there anything I can try if the pc is not seeing the drive and jungleflasher is not seeing the drive? I have done many drives but luckily, none of them have been liteon's till now. So now I feel like a noob... sorry if these are greenhorn questions

Yeah I have the via 6421 and I actually got the drive to dump the dummy bin, bt after all that, It asks me if I want to load the ixtreme firmware and says MD5 hash doesnt match and the program terminates. Is there a way to manually flash the drive once I have the key?

What version of JF are you using? 1.66?

Are you sure you got the right firmware? There is firmware for the 74850c and there is firmware for the 83850c.
