Hey everybody i am having some problems with my xbox. It had gotten rrod and i fixed it by removing the x-clamps and applying new thermal paste and all that good stuff and it worked just fine. I even left it on for likr3 hours just to tes it and it was still good after that but when i tried it today it gets rrod for like 2 secs and then 2 red lights. Or just 2 red lights or starts up fine for like 3-4 secs then 2 red lights. i am so confused and don't know what to do.

When it displays 2 red lights, it means that the system is overheated.

Did you reconnect everything correctly? Reseated the heat sinks correctly? The fans are running correctly, etc?

Do this at your own risk.

I had an xbox 2 weeks ago that had the same exact problem. After turning the xbox on within moments the fan would begintogo to max and then shut off with two red lights.


I kind of went into left field with this idea,but it worked.
I assumed if the 360 thought it was overheating,I'd make it overheat
I used a heat gun on a low setting and began heating the GPU, with the heatsink installed. After reaching an obviously hot temperature I stopped because I didn't want to damage the board. I plugged it in and turned it on and it worked! [you can prob use a blow dryer]
