Ok so I'm going to give my friend a RROD box that I fixed to use for LIVE. I had already flashed it with IExtreme, but then the whole super banwave hit. It's never been online after being flashed, played 1 game to test. It actually hasn't been online for a year or more probably. Now, I used the hitachi firmware pack, and used JF's option to "restore to stock". It seems to have worked; burned games now give "Please put this in an Xbox 360 console" message.

Do you think this will be ok for LIVE now? Is the original firmware option really putting it back as stock? Thanks for any help

I don't have a answer for your question but I do want to go back to stock on my hitachi. Can you tell me which program you used and the tutorial you followed.

Thanx

not sure how safe it would be even if it is the original firmware now as it has played a game and this might be stored on the console somewhere? which could send M$ a flag, could be interesting to find out though as it may point out how M$ are finding consoles
