Hey everyone! I'm attempting to make a backup of a 360 game, and it's giving me quite a few problems.
Now before you explain to me how to backup a 360 game, i've done it many times before. I know about setting the layerbreak and booktype. I did everything CORRECTLY and I'm using DvdDecrypter. It hasn't failed me yet.
When I put the disk in, it loads for a minute then tells me to "Open Tray" instead of booting the game. I don't know why it's doing this all of the sudden, is my DVD burner possibly going bad?
I only use Verbatim DVD+R DL disks, and I double checked all my setting in DvdDecrypter. Can anyone please help?
Thanks!

It's most likely the laser in your 360 getting flakey. You may want to do a search on a pot calibration guide. Do not attempt that without a multimeter.

do your older confirmed working backups still work, or is it only doing this with your newer burns?

Its a wave 4 game. Older backups (wave 3) work, and I have backed up 2 other wave 4 games that work fine as well. I'm on a BenQ drive with the latest firmware. I updated about 2 weeks ago so I think I'm running 1.61. Ill double check when I get home.
I'm positive I burned it correctly and the iso/dvd files are fine as well. Everything was double checked and I have no idea why it isn't burning properly.

Run the disc itself through ABGX. If it passes ABGX, it is your laser.

Abgx told me the layerbreak was incorrect and the media size was too small for a 360 disk. How can I make sure it's my DVD burner? Should I just get a new one?
Also which brand would you recommend? Thanks

Are you running the ISO through ABGX first?
Also, try ImgBurn.

Yes, I always run my ISO's through ABGX before I do anything. And what settings do I use in Imgburn?

And you are using autofix level 3 in ABGX, right?
ImgBurn will have all of the correct settings automatically if you have created a .DVD file with ABGX.

Yes of course. I always make sure I do level 3.
And do I still need to set the layerbreak manually and delete the layerbreak= line from the .dvd?

No. ABGX will create a proper DVD file for you and then you just load that up with ImgBurn.

Just to let everyone know. I bought a new spindle of DVD+R DL disks, and I burned with Imgburn instead of dvdDecrypter. It worked just fine!
I'm not sure why it was giving me problems. I've made backups before with DvdDecrypter and it never gave me a problem until now. Oh well. Thanks for your help though.
