is it possible to flash a liteon DG-13D2S without a probe

I have been searching all day and can't find any guide that can tell me if you can flash a liteon drive without a probe of some sort or another.

my question is (sorry if its horribly ignorant) can you flash the drive using only a sata cable and software like most of the other drives?

At the moment the only way to get the key/dummy.bin is to use a spear as far as I know.

You need a probe. Make one if you don't want to spend the money

I've done this by using at old Nokia DKU-2 data cable from my mobile phone, worked a treat :-)

if you dont wanna pay for the really expensive probes get the ones some guy with the username jackson75 is selling on ebay i think another user started selling them too...it looks pretty simple really...just a lil usb with a metal spear thing at the end ..but im not savvy enough or have enough time to fiddle about and make one so i got one of those and it actually worked...dunno why i was surprised it worked to be honest
