to SATA cable to flash the xbox 360? I saw a video on the internet while searching on how to flash the 360 that said it was possible. It would be cheaper for me to just get one of these instead of buying a pci card. But i decided to ask here before buying one of these just to make sure i save money by buying the right thing.

You can get the VIA 6421 PCI SATA Card for like 15$...

true but i only have a laptop on me for now. Im no where near my pc which is back at my house while i am at my apt. Wont be going back there for quite a while so it wouldnt work =/

I've read about people using a USB-to-SATA adapter. I have no idea what the chipset would be though.

Yes, but I am pretty sure as of right now you can only use a USB to SATA adapter to flash Hitachi 46 / 47 / 59 not any other drives. If I were you I would just buy a PC VIA 6421 PCI SATA Card (just like leerage said). Here is a link to a really cheap one $8.48.

Well thats good, i have a Hitachi 46DH drive, i was wondering if you knew a link to how to do it? Or is it the same as you would normally do it with a PCI card?

Lite on's can also be flashed with sata to usb adapters.

if you have a laptop, why not just get a PCIMA card with the via 6421 chipset and use it? seems like that would be the easiest thing to do.
