I am preparing to mod my lite on drive but after extensive research I still have some questions. I could really use some help from someone who is experienced in this.
If I solder my DPDT switch with 22-Ohm resister to my lite-on board, does the boards power cord remain connected to the 360 for a source of power?
If so do I leave the 360 connected to the drive via power cable on during the entire process of dumping/saving/flashing and toggle the switch on/off to turn the poiwer to the board/drive on/off?
If you are using the 360 to power the drive, make sure you have the switch in the right position (the 22 ohm pulling down). Then power on the console and click Intro/Device ID in Jungle Flasher. This should get you good flash chip properties and status 0x72. At this point you will put the switch into the other position and read the firmware.

Hey thanks. What you are telling me is in line with what I have read in the Jungle Flasher tutorial, making me all the more confident about this operation. I am concerned however about something I read regarding powering the drive with the 360. I believe I came across some text saying that if this is done with the drive disconnected from the 360, it will log it in the OS. Do you know anything about this? If so, can this cause a problem? And, finally, is the connection referring to the yellow white and red wires that connect the drive to the 360? Thanks for your time.

The "Dirty NAND" concept is highly debated. Some say that it is logged... but is it used for banning material? Nobody knows but M$. If you are planning on playing on Live, I would go ahead and take the precaution and use a connectivity kit. Or if you have a 360 that has been banned or won't be used online, you can use it.

Hey thanks again. Looks similar to a cable that would power a hard drive or optical drive in a computer. I'm not really concerned with xbox live so I guess it won't be an issue. I think I'm ready for the flash now. I do see alot of posts regarding new games and waves and playability so I guess that will be the next issue for me to tackle.

iXtreme LT v1.1 doesn't care about waves. It assumes all stealth is correct. Make sure you have SSv2 and SplitVid on the ISO. ABGX is the program to use to check all this.

Awesome. Once again, thank you for all your time and information.
