Hello need some advice on my 9504 drive . Gave my xbox to a freind to flash xbox has the 0225 drive but bought a second drive that was a 9504 to replace it when the new fw was released so long story short my friend went to flash the 9504 with the new 0225 fw and the key off my orignal 0225 but said that is computer shut down while writing and says now that the 9504 drive reads as a 0225 but some how he thinnks that my keys from the 0225 drive did swap cause it wont play any games .He said that my 9504 drive is now a 0225 drive and i will now have to bye pcb unlock to flash that slim so my point is did this friend mess my 9504 drive up and flash to a 0225 drive and wont be able to flash it cause they are write protected . If so then i now have 2 0225 drives

does it play Orig games? New dash update locks out backups on slims.

No doesnt play anything it just reads in jf that it is now a 0225 drive and cant read what key is on it . I have my key saved from the first 0225 but for some reason my laptop that read the 0225 key that come with my xbox wont pick any drives up now so until i get that fixed i cant see if the one he flashed or screwed up has the same keys .so is it now that my 9504 got messed up and wont be able to do anything with it unless i get the unlock pcb cause it says its a 0225 and you cant write to those with out it .Wow if thats the case then either i got to give the xbox thing up or pay for another vacation for c4eva and team x .Thanks for the help

Flash back to stock and test a retail game with stock firmware. You cannot play backups on slims right now. Did you download the new JF and try that? Just released a day ago. I have read issues with JF after the drives are flashed while the lizard works. See what the new JF does first and go from there.

Ok thanks for all the help . I got the drive back to a 9504 with they orig fw and key says good so now that i got it back after he messed it up i would like to know is what he said is true that i can put that 9504 into my xbox that came with a 0225 if so what fw will i load first then second .Kinda been out of it for awhile and only done a few benq WOW that was easy and things have changed so much a seems like everyday .Oh i did get the new jf and you said i couldnt play backups will i have to wait for lt2.0 or can i do something differnt cause i have never updated or play online .sorry for all the newbie stuff but looks like i got to do it myself

thanks for the help guys got it working and playing backups again dont know how but i did just thought you couldnt write to the 0225 drive but got it back to 9405 and flashed with new 0225 fw

Then it's not a 0225 drive. There were some 0225 cases that were put on 9504 drives. So you got lucky.

I thought the 9504's had the ability to be write-protected if MS implemented it through an update?
