hey everyone

My friend has a xbox I know its modded for sure because he can play back up games .But he is not sure that was hard modded or soft modded(flashed). Kindly tell me how do you know this and also now all new games are wave3. how do you update this. Its throwing me off. Can i just flash it as if it was never flashed before. Can i just soft mod over hard mod. please let me know

open it up and you can see if there is a mod chip.

Look up tuts on how to flash pre-flashed drives if it is flashed.

That so hard?

So if it has mod chip , do i have to remove it. Please im not all familiar with hard mod.I think u didnt get what was i am trying tell. So if this already has mod chip can i use jungle flasher to flash or do i have to remove the chip and continue .If it already has ixtreme than im sure i can write the new firmware.Please help me out thanks

if its got a chip take it out and flash it when did u mod ur xbox mod chips are the dumb way to go its prob flashed

I know using mod chips is dumb so if it has a mod chip i just remove it and flash it considering it as flashed drive or do i consider its a stock drive.Please help me out

you flash it as a stoc drive because the firmware on the drive is stock its the mopdchip that has the mod done to it once its out the drive is stock again

well softmod usually implies software bieng added to the console that will alow you to play modded games like the Wii has with the zelda twilight princess hack. ive seen people refer to drive flashing as soft modding but i wouldnt say that that is totaly accurate. since once its flashed it cannot be undone without a reflash hard mods almost always refer to mod chips soldered and clip ons

thanks for the reply.So now how would i know if its softmod(not flashing).Is there any software for xbox 360 like for Wii?Correct me if am wrong. So now all I do is that open the xbox and check if it has a mod chip ,remove it. Open up jungle flasher and check if has previous of ixtreme or not.depending on that i have to follow the tutorials .

ok well xbox does not have any software mods like the wii does as of yet im sure it will be around sooner or later as for what mod was done to ur xbox its either a firmware flash or a mod chip witch you wont know unless you either open up ur 360 and find the mod chip and remove it or you connect ur drive and dump the firmare through jungleflasher than just follow the tutorials on flashing
