I was wondering that if there was a way to get some DLC to work for free. For example, with Left 4 Dead 2, they are actually charging for the expansion pack, where if you own the PC version of the game, you can get it free of charge. Since I don't want to pay for the same game twice I was wondering if there was any way to get DLC content to work. I imagine that it will be harder than just finding a rapidshare link, putting the file on a memory card, and then transferring it to your 360's hard drive.

Yeah, but still, having to pay for something that was free if you owned the PC version still sucks. Not only that, but some things just cost more than they are worth (clothes/accessories for your avatar) or you don't know if what your buying is worth the money put down for it. In short, if something is defiantly worth the money, then yes, buy it legitimately, but if it's just some minor stuff (a new theme etc.) or something you don't know is worth that capital investment (where they give items that may/may not be worth the investment), that's why I'm trying to get some DLC for free. In short, buy what looks good, but try out anything else your not sure is worth spending money on.

Also what is meant by a JTAG console? I assume that's the one where soldering wires to certain places was done. Mine's more of a softmod (ixtreme), so would I still be able to get downloaded/copied DLC validated?

This is possible but not online unless you got jtag and even then it is not advised. You can always play offline easy though.

get a friend who has the DLC and copy their profile using modio and a transfer cable. then find the game in their saves and copy that to the same place in your HDD. Now you can play their DLC for free. The bad part is as soon as you connect to live their profile gets pushed back to their console so it must be copied again or recovered back onto your box before you can play it. You can have like multiple people using the same profile on a network without live and play the dlc. This is helpful for things like L4D and COD:WAW where you can play on LAN and have great fun with friends. But alas you can always just use their DLC for games like GTA or Saints row.

Also remember that you can just load up their profile and then load up yours and be able to get achievements onto your profile using the DLC instead of just building theirs up lol.

Mods are like games.....GO BIG OR GO HOME!!
