Is it possible for it to mess up my controller anyway? Not sure if I really trust these low quality items from China, but don't feel like paying $20 for a charger.

i Have been using that cheap china made battery/charger for a year now and it works fine the only problem is if you leave it charging any longer then a few hours it gets very hot.
