I keep trying to burn 360 games, but it keeps crashing on me or giving me an error (I/O). I tried burning with Memorex, but after reading about how horrible they are I bought Verbatim and had the same issue. I am using Imgburn but in Windows 7. Here is my Imgburn log:

Although bad media is often attributed to this error, it is my own opinion that very often it is in fact the DVD burner itself that is the problem. Burn it in another DVD burner and your problem may go away.
Is this a laptop by any chance? I've had the same problem with my laptop; 4 coasters in a row. Then I burned it in my desktop and got a legit burn the first time.

This is my laptop, but I just came back from my friend's house, where I tried to burn Grand Theft Auto 4 on his desktop. =/ At his place we used PowerISO, so it burned until 54% then failed. Guess that is another issue?

That's possibly the problem. That firmware is old. Here's RR07: -
http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1378-...N_RR07.zip.html
When I downloaded it, it downloaded as a .html file, but if you rename it to .zip, you can extract the updater. I can't vouch for that site either, so it's up to you whether you use it.
BTW, does the drive work if you try and burn a regular DVD or CD?

Burn it in a legit desktop PC with ImgBurn using the same Verbs you used before and I am pretty sure it will work.
Of course there is a small chance your Verbs aren't the 'high quality' type that are made in Singapore and that is the cause of your problem. I think that chance is small, however.
Upgrading your friend's firmware isn't a bad idea, either.
Some games seem to produce this error more than others, as well.

Well, I've successfully burned Wii DVDs before, and I used Nero InfoTools to make sure my burner can handle DLs, which it can.

Well this log is from my laptop. I guess I'll try to update the driver, and if it doesn't work, I'll try Imgburn on my friend's desktop again. BTW, I got the DVDs from BestBuy (since Frys was out of stock), so I don't know if that helps the Singapore situation. Any other help would be appreciated as well!

OK, just thought I'd ask because the "Internal Target Failure" message can be a sign of a dead drive. If you can burn CDs and single layer DVDs, then it's probably down to compatibility issues with the discs which updating the firmware might fix.

Yes, upgrade the firmware for sure.
However, it's not a coincidence that I asked you whether this was a laptop or not. This is a known issue in laptops and otherwise questionable DVD burners.

Really? What do you mean? Is my drive not able to write on DVD DLs or did my laptop come with a crappy drive?

Your laptop came with a crappy drive. Like I said, I've had the same exact error and it went away when I burned the same rip on the same media in my desktop PC.
If you don't have a desktop, you can buy an internal DVD burner (anything you buy will be better than your laptop's, most likely) and put it into an external case, like a hard drive. Then you connect it to your laptop with USB. You can buy that at Newegg.

If you don't have a desktop, you can buy an internal DVD burner (anything you buy will be better than your laptop's, most likely) and put it into an external case, like a hard drive. Then you connect it to your laptop with USB. You can buy that at Newegg.
Darn it! >.< Well, my friend whose desktop I tried to burn on is actually my roommate for the coming semester, and we're moving in this week. I think I'll give his desktop another try with Imgburn. Thanks for all of the help you guys!

No problem. Good luck getting your roommates burner going.
