hello,
i have searched my best and read multiple guides to no avail.
im running osx leopard and am trying to burn backups of a couple of games i own. the problem i have with the games is that after burning, the xbox only reads them as a dvd movie with no controls available.
i have been using abgx to verify the isos, and everything checks out.
tried using 3 separate utilities to burn the isos with the same results (OSx360, iburn360, and x360iso hacker) each of these programs want to patch the isos, even though they check out in abgx. i have tried burning with and without patching, all with same result.
lastly, the isos i have attempted were:
agn-mdn10
nig-m10
unl-mad10
ptc-wfsx
i have had no trouble mastering other things with the drive i have:
SH-S223L
and have even attempted using a memorex usb dvd-burner.
the process that i usually see occur is (roughly) "preparing data for writing", "writing track 1", "finishing writing".
any help would be awesome, i am sick of wasting dvds. it is especially frustrating because i never ran into any problems like this on the pc.
What brand media are you using? Verbatims are the best, so if you're not using them, use them. What ixtreme firmware does your xbox have? ix1.51+ is needed to play wave 3 games. Also try using img burn, i've always used img burn and I've never had a coaster.
have been using ridata media (which most people say is as good as verbatim, ive never had a problem with it before). i am using ix 1.5 which sounds like my issue, will reflash my drive later today and report. thank you for your help.
thank you for the reply, the issue was the version of ixtreme i was using. the ridata media works wonderfully, and is much cheaper than verbatim.
in the process i killed my liteon drive and had to revive it.
this thread was very helpful:
http://robinhoodsplayground.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=195&t=3226 i followed what the guy did pretty closely aside from the redundant erasing and power cycling, still worked out really well.
both of the backups i was attempting work flawlessly, now i dont have a pile of coasters but too many games, thank you.

Well if your drive reads them then I would use them, new lasers are only $10. I would use a cheaper brand if my drives would read them.
