I'm new so apologise in advance if I mess up somehow, be gentle :)
Could someone link/tell me what games iXtreme 1.2 will play? I've read it will read any backup regardless of wave, so if I burned say a Wave 3 game, should it work?
For info, I couldn't get Jungleflasher to work on my PC and Firmware Toolbox only goes up to iXtreme 1.4 when ideally I'd like 1.51. Upgrading to 1.4 seems silly since it can supposedly only play Waves 1&2. My xbox will never be connected to Live.

Are you using a Via 6421 Sata Card?

Yes. I tried all the ports, changing PCI slots, both PortIO and WinAPI with JungleFlasher. I was able to dump the original firmware successfully but my PC always became unresponsive before I was able to flash the drive.
So I gave up and used Firmware Toolbox instead, but that only goes up to iXtreme 1.4 which can supposedly only play waves 2&3. Having read 1.2 can supposedly play any wave (presumably because it doesn't include any safety checks for avoiding the Live banhammer), it seemed the better choice.

What transfer method are you using (e.g. Ram Upload, Ram Poke, Classic etc).
Also, try opening Jungle Flasher, Then open Firmware toolbox, dump the Firware with Firmware Tool and then write with jungle flasher, it worked for me once.
Dont try write with firmware toolbox, it will brick your drive.
Hope this helps,
Mike

I tried all the options available, the furthest I got was with 'Mode Select' where the PC froze when trying to dump the firmware immediately prior to flashing it.

I did manage to dump the firmware and save my drive key, but the PC just becomes unresponsive with JungleFlasher when the xbox is started.

Oops, too late! I guess I was lucky, flashing with FT appeared to work for me, though I have yet to test it with anything other than an original game. But I realise the potential for bricking, hence am content to stick with 1.2 if it will work offline.

Good news that you got it sorted. Im not sure on how the strict wave complience withs with 1.2, fingers crossed you can book Wave's 3,4 & 5.

Did you follow the Jungle flasher tut and delete or rename the vimraid.sys via card driver to stop the freezing or locking of pc?

Yep, to the letter, it locked up whether I used WinAPI or PortIO. I tried different PCI slots, different SATA ports on the card and a different SATA cable, with no luck beyond being able to dump the firmware just the once. I even tried stopping any unnecessary Windows services and processes, including my ATI display driver, antivirus, firewall, etc, but couldn't stop the PC from grinding to a halt whenever the 360 was powered on.
Anyway, I'm just posting to confirm that iExtreme 1.2 can play waves1&2 fine. It can also play wave3 (and hopefully above) after the game has been patched to a wave2 one using 360WavesPatcher.
