I have a hitachi hard drive flashed with ixtreme 1.51. I flashed the drive a long time ago and got banned during the COD MW2 ban wave. So, this xbox is banned from online, but still continued to work with every game I downloaded no matter what version the game was. I recently got portal 2 and was forced to update before playing the game. After the update, my console settings say:
D:2.0.12625.0
K:2.0.12625.0 (BK: 2.0.1888.0)
I believe that is the dashboard that accepts the kinect, so I figured I would buy one and check it out. Now, before I put this kinect on my banned/modded xbox, I want to make sure I dont ruin anything else which would not allow me to play other downloaded games (like portal 2). When I plug in the kinect, am I going to have an update? should I do the update? and most importantly, will I still be able to play all games (kinect and other) without any problems?
One last thing. I bought a new xbox after I got banned so that I could still play games like call of duty online. So, I put my 20G hard drive on the new xbox and only have a little memory card for the modded xbox. I know that you have to have a hard drive to use kinect. So, are there any issues with swapping the hard drive back and forth between the normal and the modded xbox as I play different games?
