ixtreme 1.6 w/ disk jitter?

I updated my FW on my ms28 from 1.4 to 1.6, but now any backup I seem to play has a terrible buzzing noise(jitter?). It did not seem to do this w/ 1.4, could it be crappy media (Phillips dvd+r dl 8x)?

no where in the features for 1.6 fw does it say anything about disk jitter. I guess i'm trying to figure out what disk jitter is. It makes the noise when the disk slows down from a very high speed, does not sound healthy.....I will order some verbatims i guess.

What speed are you burning at? Try burning at 2.4x on verbs.

it burned at a speed of 4x on my desktop. When trying to burn off of my laptop(2.4x), the disks wrote fine, but failed to finalize.

It doesn't it say that because that problem has nothing to do with your firmware. The only thing is the 12x speed lock in.
