I am planning to buy a Jasper version of the Xbox 360 Console. (Thanks to countless RROD issues) I need it to be flashed. Now. ALL Jasper models come with the new lite on drive. I m not too sure but after googling arounda bit, I heard that not all of them are flashable (could be old or outdated posts)

My question is- Are they flashable? IF so, which models with what methods? I know that there's the one with the c3k probe. Some can be spoofed (Not an option cause i cant afford another drive) and some require a MRA hack. There is ONE model in 2009 (83850C v1) that can be flashed with a SATA cable which i ll have tough luck finding on the store shelves. 93450c is the newest and most commonly available model now. Is that flashable?

List of PAL jasper-model equipped drives. (PAL because I'm Indian)

http://www.360drives.com/list?v_videomode=pal&v_board=5&v_perpage=50

Now my question is.

What do i do? I need the jasper. I wanna make sure I dont end up with a non flashable
console.

Any help would be appreciated.

all liteons can be flashed now ether by the Probe (7 Series) or by the MRA hack. Some of the earlier 8v1 series didn't need the MRA hack, but i don't think there was many 8v1 series around. 8v2 and 9's need the MRA hack.

All FAT 360s can be flashed by one means or another.

On shelves? They don't make these anymore. Maybe your area is flooded but not mine.

I m in India. The fat consoles are still available. Not easily but still available. =)

Just one more question regarding the ways to flash the lite on.

Which method is the safest/most efficient/and does LEAST hardware modification to the PCB/Drive/etc?

Thank you.

i would say the probe for the 7 series or the 8v1. with the 8v2 and 9 you have to cut the board. It sounds worse then it really is to do.

Probe is not needed for the 8v1. Just the 7 series and wrong about the 8v2 no cuts needed. Only some of the 8v3's need the be cut. All 9 series need cuts.

nope. No one really labels the 8 series a v3. It depends on the date of the drive if it dumps or not without cuts. I did re-read, you still say a probe with 7 series or 8v1 which never needed a probe. If you want to do it right, all lite on drive should be full dumped anyway.

OK.. What ever. you can read it how ever you want to read. I answered his quesion "safest/most efficient/and does LEAST hardware modification" which is "probe for the 7 series or the 8v1". still don't see probe at 8 series.

And about the 8v3. yea i don't know. seems like there no firmware for it then. again call it what you want.

Official release of C4E's iXtreme LT+ v1.1
- Supports Benq and Liteon Drives (74850, 83850V1, 83850V2, 93450)
- xbox 1 backup support (iXtreme compatible, DVD9 only)
- improved pfi support

I tried to explain it by the date. Some dump some don't without cuts. If you flashed as many drives as I have, you would know this. I figured you don't since all LITE ON drives should be fully dumped and you didn't recommend that.

LOL, no worries. Both answers DO work. The full dump is just more safe.

while your around and have flash a lot of drives. Have you ever ran into the issue linked below? It's when flashing the drive they claim it could burn the laser out? Since i do a full dump when i modd drives the first time :) the board is out and laser not hooked up. but i've worried. say, going from LT to LT Plus that it might happen.

0_0 Er.. I m not the one doing the flashing. I m giving it to this guy. So I have to tell him to a do a full dump? What's a full dump? And the Manufacture date is Jan 2010. So it should mostly be a 9 series right?

Full dump is with the drive calibration data and key intacted. I believe the probe and alot of soft mods would just extract the key and after re-writing you would lose the calibration data.

I'm NEVER going to go on LIVE. So is a full dump still necessary? I basically need my backups to work. That's about it. Also, for updating firmware, I only need the key right?

Sorry for being noobish. =(

EDIT: Did some research and found some threads that say a full dump including the calibration data preserves the longevity of the laser.

Also found equal amount of threads that say calibration data is not required. Problem is I live in India and the guys here may not have all the hardware/or knowledge regarding them. Just in case he says he can only do a key dump, I wanna know if its okay.

Help please? =(
