JF freezing PC after port selected for drive

I'm sorry but all the search results are for VIA card freeze fixes. I have the drive connected with a sata cable.

I am using a connectivity kit so I turned the dvd on, ejected, turned off, pushed tray in half, turned on. Then I wen to Jungleflasher DVDKEy32. I couldn't find my drive so I had to select "show non ide ports". After scrolling through a bunch, I found my drive.

After I selected it, my PC started lagging, and about 30sec later it went into a black screen so I had to force restart it.

Does this mean my chipset sata isn't compatible?

I've never personally had to do it, but supposedly it works to uninstall VIA drivers completely. A search for those terms will come up with results.

Another option, depending on your drive type, is to use Firmware Toolbox. It is a much more stable program.
