JTAGGED Xbox As A Media Extender?

I have never connected my JTAGGED 360 to the network at all and was looking to switch over from TiVOs to a WMC setup using my Xbox as a media extender...is this is a good? Will my JTAGGED box talk out to Microsoft somehow (I won't be signing into Live or playing any games online) and cripple itself? Just curious.

Not if you set up the parental controls to disable Live access. My jtag is wired to the router to allow for FTP access, but it's never connected to Live.

just make sure you have the media DLC files in your content/0000000000000 (16 0's) folder. they can be found here:

@wabashman - what are thos "media DLC files" you are referring to? Just curious. I can't view that msg board since I'm not a member.

It allows the 360 to play certain video files like Xvid etc. etc.

I'm pretty sure that's the "optional media update" for jtag.

it is the optional media update. files are already unlocked and comes with a guide for the n00bs that do not know how to install them.
