I've been browsing forums for a couple hours now with no luck. I can't figure out why my ts-h943a won't show up under Drive Properties. I've tried selected all I/O ports for my on-board SATA but I get the message "No Drive Detected!" under Vendor each time. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Some on-board SATAs don't read the drives.

Your best bet is to go with a VIA card.
